So, you want to help add faces to the directory? Awesome!

Step One: Register your account!

To post on the blog requires you having your own account. You can find the registration link in the sidebar. Choose a username that suits you, nothing crude, please! Once you’ve created your account, log in using the login link in the sidebar. This will take you to the posting area.

Step Two: Create your post!

Go to Posts –> Add New. This will bring up a clean posting form. Choose your play-by and do a bit of a Google search on them – find what galleries and resources are available for them, as you’ll be required to link to these later! Resources can be, but aren’t limited to:

• Fansites
• Fashion galleries
• Official sites
• Wikipedia articles
• IMDB entries

Once you’ve got all that loaded, work out what information you will need to present. Check out the current posts to see how others have been done. Make sure you create clickable links. This is done by hitting the chain button at the top of the posting screen! Just highlight the text you want linked, click the button, and insert the address. Easy!

Step Three: Create your icons!

Each submission will have four 100×100 icons to give users some idea of what the celebrity looks like. Try and create icons that represent all of the celebrity’s looks. If they have pictures with blonde hair, and in another gallery, pictures as a brunette – try and include one picture from both. Upload your files into the post, using the upload/insert link in the post editor. Please note: stealing icons without permission of the creator will be taken very seriously. Save yourself some trouble, and create them yourself! It’s nice and simple. After all — this isn’t an arts site. It’s a play-by site.

Step Four: Categories and tags!

Each post should have a number of categories, and a number of tags. For categories, select all that apply. For example, if the play-by is female, and a child, the applicable categories are ‘Play-By’, ‘Female’ and ‘Female children’. Tick all the relevant boxes, and make sure ‘Uncategorized’ remains unticked.

Tags are the user’s way of finding the perfect play-by, and the more tags you fit to your post, the more likely it is people will find it. So add as many tags as you can possibly think of to describe your submission. There are a few tags that must be included, and a list of common tags can be found below. The only tricky tag is the ‘Birth’ tag, which should be the decade your submission was born in. For instance, if they were born in 1984, the tag would be ‘Birth: 1980s’, and if 2003, it would be ‘Birth: 2000s’.  Also, if the play-by has more than one ‘look’, make sure to tag for all of them. A play-by with pictures with both black and brown hair would be tagged ‘Hair: Brown’ and ‘Hair: Black’ along with any other applicable tags. There should be a check box with all the tags currently in use on FMF. Check everything that applies!

Step Five: Submit!

Click submit on the right hand side of your screen, and feel good about yourself! You’re helping people find the perfect play-bys! An administrator will be around as soon as they can to approve your post and have it appear in the directory. If your post hasn’t appeared within two-three days, prod Mousie to make sure it gets included! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post below!
